IHF updates WHO on growing hospital sustainability… Leave a comment

International Hospital Federation leaders recently briefed the World Health Organization on its Geneva Sustainability Centre, launched this year with support from University Hospitals of Geneva to help hospital and health system leaders advance environmentally sustainable and climate-resilient health care, a major focus for global hospital leaders.
At last month’s IHF conference in Dubai, Jonathan Perlin, M.D., president and CEO of the Joint Commission and former AHA chair, led an IHF partners’ workshop on “Net zero, climate resilient, and sustainable healthcare,” which included participation from Michelle Hood, AHA executive vice president and chief operating officer. Rod Hochman, president and CEO of Providence and immediate past chair of AHA, participated in a panel discussion on environmental sustainability efforts.
