National Health Authority announces Digital Health Incentive…

National Health Authority

The National Health Authority (NHA) has introduced the Digital Health Incentive Scheme (DHIS) for the participants in the digital health ecosystem. The programme seeks to advance digital health transactions across the nation as part of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM). Hospitals, diagnostic laboratories, and suppliers of digital health solutions like Hospital/Health Management Information Systems (HMIS) and Laboratory Management Information Systems would all receive incentives under this programme (LMIS).

Based on the number of digital health records they produce and link to ABHA, the DHIS would allow qualified health institutions and digital solutions providers to receive financial incentives of up to Rs. 4 crores (Ayushman Bharat Health Account). Health facilities (hospitals and diagnostic laboratories) that are registered with ABDM’s Health Facility Registry (HFR) and who meet the qualifying requirements outlined in the plan are eligible to apply for this incentive.

Elaborating on the same, Dr. R. S. Sharma, CEO of NHA said – “We believe that this scheme will encourage more and more healthcare facilities and digital software companies to come forward and join ABDM for providing patient-centric healthcare. Through this financial incentive scheme, we’re encouraging the adoption of digital health. Further, we’re also including solution (HMIS/ LMIS) providers in the incentive scheme so that they handhold other health facilities to come on board and facilitate the strengthening of the ecosystem. Incentives have played a catalytic role in driving early adoption of other citizen-centric programs such as UPI, notification of TB cases, Janani Suraksha Yojana, etc.”
