Predictive Health Intelligence, a medical technology and clinical service development company based in Somerset, has started a new phase of its project using its HepatoSIGHT technology, and case-finding approach, to identify previously hidden cases of liver disease.
This phase involves the recall of the first patients, who may be at risk for developing liver disease.
Predictive Health is a pioneering partnership between clinical, healthcare Information Management, and NHS experts. They have developed a case-finding search engine called HepatoSIGHT, which uses data from existing blood tests combined with new technology to identify previously hidden cases of liver disease. The project is funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR), the research partner of the NHS, public health and social care.
Tim Jobson, medical director & chief investigator for the Somerset Liver Improvement Project, said: “The response we have had so far from patients has been very positive, reassuring us that this approach is better for the clinicians, the healthcare system and most importantly, the patients.”
HepatoSIGHT takes upwards of 200 million items of data, and in a secure, flexible manner, allows clinicians to identify those patients most at risk of developing disease. With this, Predictive Health allows clinicians to take a patient centric approach to early identification of liver disease in the community. The overall approach of the project is to leverage this technology without adding complexity to clinician’s already busy days.
