Proposed Branford ‘Healthcare Innovation Hub’ Unveiled By Developer Leave a comment

BRANFORD, CT — Ryan Companies, a Minneapolis-based developer, announced that it, along with Connecticut-based Henrich Partners LLC, are codeveloping HealthTech Park in Branford with landowners Belfonti Companies LLC and A. Secondino & Son Inc.

Located on a 120-acre parcel of land along Interstate 95, this medical and life sciences development is expected to become a “focal point in the state’s globally recognized healthcare industry,” according to Ryan Companies.

“What we’re looking to develop on this site is extremely unique. There is a significant focus on embracing the natural elements of the property—preserving the trees, streams, views—to create a place where businesses can thrive within islands of nature,” said Connor Lewis, vice president of real estate development. “HealthTech Park will shine as a beacon for the Town of Branford and Connecticut, as well as across the country as a leading example of a healthcare and life sciences-centric development.”

The location, New Haven Biz reported, is the site of the former Bittersweet Farm, between Route 1 and I-95.

Due to its location between New York City and Boston, HealthTech Park will offer “convenience to other major financial and life sciences hubs throughout the region,” the company said. The anticipated 500,000+-square-foot development will “provide doctors, researchers, and innovators a unique and modern state-of-the-art space which will be set in the area’s natural environment of trees, creeks, and walking paths.”

Ryan said it will manage the construction of the project, and Ryan A+E Inc. will lead the site master planning and architectural design.

“HealthTech Park is expected to create substantial employment opportunities for trade professionals throughout construction, as well as countless jobs in healthcare, life sciences, and biotech once it is completed,” the company noted.
