April 17 through 23 serves as Health Information Professionals Week.
The week long recognition serves to celebrate health information professionals that respond in a timely manner and have achieved triumphs amidst the tumultuous changes and unprecedented challenges facing health information professionals during the COVID-19 pandemic. The celebration also serves to celebrate those who ensure health stories remain accurate, accessible and protected.
Russell Regional Hospital is proud of their Health Information Department and appreciates their dedication and work that is delicate to a patient’s experience in health care.
Health information represents many things to different people. Your health information is your story. It is sensitive, nuanced and complex. Above all, health information is human information. Health information professionals see the person connected to the data and work tirelessly to ensure their information stays human, because when information stays human, it stays relevant. This perspective is critical to the success of all modern health organizations.
Positioned at the intersection of healthcare, technology and business, professionals in the health information space possess a uniquely comprehensive view of a resource critical to meaningful health innovation. In medical coding, clinical documentation integrity, data analytics, management, privacy, security and beyond, health information professionals empower their partners in health care to provide high quality lifesaving care.
