UAE, US discuss initiatives to further strengthen… Leave a comment

The UAE and the US have reiterated interest in further developing ties in the healthcare sector and have reviewed the latest technological milestones and innovations in the sector that can help improve community health in the UAE.

The two sides also discussed various initiatives for developing their ties, especially by leveraging advanced technologies provided by medical companies.

The discussions took place during a meeting between high ranking officials of the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) and a visiting US delegation on Wednesday.

Dr. Amin Hussein Al Amiri, assistant under-secretary for the health regulation sector, MoHAP, said the meeting reflected both sides’ interest in exploring further avenues of collaboration about best international practices in healthcare.

Dr. Al Amiri stressed on the ministry’s keenness to expand its international relations with other global counterparts.

Al Amiri also briefed the US delegation on the UAE’s health strategies and the latest innovative digital health services, qualitative achievements, and development efforts in relation to health studies and research.

The US delegation lauded the impressive development of the UAE’s healthcare system, as well as the ministry’s initiatives to deliver smart and sustainable services based on a state-of-the-art health infrastructure capable of handling pandemics.

Erik Antos, vice president of emerging markets, Zimmer Biomet, and Bruce Ellsworth, Commercial Attaché in the US embassy, were part of the visiting US delegation.
