The Uttar Pradesh government has ordered the state’s health department to ensure all preparations to launch the communicable disease control campaign across the state on April 2.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, while addressing the review meeting on Thursday,  said, “Our government is planning to spread awareness, provide treatment and upgrade facilities for the people to effectively combat communicable diseases. Moreover, staff deployment should also be accelerated by running a campaign for better health of the general public in the state.”

The communicable disease control campaign, starting from Siddharthnagar on April 2, will be rolled out in all 75 districts to educate people about measures to prevent communicable diseases. Under this campaign, the health workers will pay door-to-door visits to identify patients with viral fever, vector-borne diseases and other symptoms.

Narrating further instructions for the health department, CM Yogi said, “Patients should not face any kind of hassles at the government health setups across all districts. No patient should return from the hospital without treatment, and there has to be a full OPD arrangement at the hospitals.”

The government has also ordered to ensure inter-departmental coordination in order to make the campaign successful. It will be making foolproof arrangements including state-wide surveillance campaigns, spraying of anti-larva chemicals under extensive mass-scale sanitation, fogging, and cleanliness drives, to ensure the safety of the state’s people.
