Michelle Hood, AHA executive vice president and chief operating officer, kicked off day 2 of the 2022 Accelerating Health Equity Conference in Cleveland today by referencing Tuesday’s keynote address, reminding attendees, “Equity is not a zero-sum game. Everyone in our society benefits, receives … solidarity dividends, when we make progress together. Each of us, whether a hospital administrator, nurse, physician, social worker, community health advocate, public health leader or association executive, whatever our race, gender or ethnic group, we all have a role to play.”
Other highlights of day 2 included:
- A roundtable with leaders from Cleveland-area health systems, who discussed how these traditional competitors are instead collaborating on strategies that address the upstream factors that influence health.
- A session devoted to lessons learned and innovative ideas for managing patient care and addressing social needs.
