The conference aims to recognize the winners who will receive awards worth 3 Million Dirhams that will be provided in the form of investment, sponsorship, licensing, business development, partnership’s and technical support for individuals and business entrants.
n addition, TIP Healthcare Awards winners will be linked with appropriate businesses in their respective sector to develop their ideas and work on the patenting process and next steps.
The one-day conference will have three main themes which are “Technology towards 2071,” “Innovation Beyond Earth” and “Pioneers of Healthcare.” These themes are inspired by the UAE Centennial Plan which aims to position the UAE as the world’s leading nation through “Technology towards 2071” and “Hope Mars Mission” initiatives.
H.E. Eng. Mohammed Ahmed bin Abdul Aziz Al Shehhi, The Ministry of Economy’s Undersecretary for Economic Affairs, stated “the ministry aims to honour participants’ service to the nation and for their pioneering spirit. Innovation is very closely tied to boosting the UAE’s regional and global competitiveness, and this is what we will be gaining from TIP. We want to increase new patents and implement them in the UAE to drive the UAE business environment. The ministry and our partners are influencing raising the Global Innovation Index with TIP initiative.”
HE Khalifa Salem Al Mansouri, Undersecretary of the Department of Economic Development – Abu Dhabi, stated “We aim in the Year of Zayed to adopt and implement new technologies that serves the needs of the UAE community in the field of healthcare and apply them them effectively in various health centers and hospitals which requires financial investments.” HE also pointed out the TIP conference will the appropriate platform for all strategic partners to implement and accelerate the pace of technological innovation in the field of health care.
HE Khalifa Salem Al Mansouri also added, “We are looking forward to see TIP inititaive as one of the main pillars in achieving the objectives the Department of Economic Development within Abu Dhabi Plan which is in line with the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030. This will be achieved through our support to the participants in the form of direct investments, sponsorship of innovative projects and technical support to individuals and start-ups”
Mr. Mohamed Al Hameli, Acting Undersecretary of the Department of Health, said “The Department of Health is keen to harness the benefits of innovation in the healthcare sector. By innovation we can improve the healthcare services, face its challenges and build a brighter future for the Emirate’s healthcare sector, TIP Healthcare awards have so far seen many possible solutions to the healthcare challenges which we are looking forward to implementing to contribute to our vision: ‘A Healthier Abu Dhabi’”
Five other platforms that are set to be activated at the official launch event will include TIP Proactive challenge platform which is driven by sectorial technological challenges; TIP Digital Platform which will be linking ecosystem partners together; TIP Physical Platform which is a place to avail new physical services and accelerate concepts; TIP Global Platform that will be linking and mixing the brightest minds and ideas through the value chain of innovation locally and internationally; TIP Funding Platform in order to create trust in the ecosystem and encourage private, government and international tech investors to fund the early and Mature stage local startups; and finally, TIP Awards which has already been announced with TIP Healthcare Awards, an initiative with Abu Dhabi Department of Health which will be the entity that announces the official winners of the awards.
The TIP conference is the flagship initiative of TIP, a yearly conference that will gather pioneers of technology, innovation in the healthcare, future economies, oil and gas and environment.
