Elevance Health, Cigna and CVS Health were recognized on USA Today’s inaugural list of America’s Climate Leaders in 2023, which was developed with Statista and published May 23.

The ranking of 400 companies recognizes organizations with more than $50 million in revenue in 2021 and that cut their carbon footprint from 2019 to 2021. 

Other criteria included year-over-year reduction of emission intensity, emission intensity in relation to annual revenue, total tons of CO2 equivalents the company emitted, total emissions reduction, and participation in emission reduction programs.
