Reunion Rehabilitation Hospitals opened the doors to its first two hospitals in Dallas-Fort Worth with the help of construction management firm, Adolfson & Peterson. The companies broke ground on the Plano hospital in October of 2021 and now operate at full capacity with 48 patient rooms and high-tech therapy gyms laid out over the buildings 55,000 square feet, plus an outdoor courtyard. The Arlington hospital, which began construction in January of 2021, specializes in inpatient rehabilitation for constituents with debilitating illnesses and injuries. Both hospitals will serve the DFW area in conjunction to provide the metroplex with top tier physical-medicine and rehabilitation services.

Texas Health has been ranked as the No. 6th Best Workplace in Texas in their sixth year being featured on Fortune’s list, and was the only heath system recognized. Fortune conducted extensive employee surveys throughout each state in the U.S. to determine the best workplaces, based on feedback from employees. Texas Health has now been named to Fortune’s national 100 Best Companies to Work For, for their ninth year in a row, as well as the Hospital Review’s 150 Top Places to Work in Healthcare for the past six years straight.

In June, Arlington received their first medical cannabis pickup location by the Texas Original group, the state’s leading medical cannabis provider. Texas state legislation approves the prescription of medical cannabis to treat spasticity, neuropathy, PTSD, cancer, epilepsy, and hundreds of other neurodegenerative disorders. With now five locations in DFW and eight others in the state, Texas Original has the largest cannabis distribution network in the state of Texas, logging over 830,000 miles in prescription deliveries in 2022. The newest Arlington location is open every Wednesday from 11:30am-3:00pm to prescribed patients.

Swiss American CDMO and BioNTX formed North Texas’ first Biotechnology and Healthcare Industry Alliance. The alliance will foster skilled labor and high-paying, quality jobs in biotechnology, biomanufacturing, and industry related positions in DFW, spurring industry development within the community. Swiss American CDMO has committed to providing expertise and guidance for DFW’s segue into biotechnology manufacturing, in order to attract talent. BioNTX is a bioscience and healthcare innovation trade organization, bridging businesses with talent in the industry and providing networking and educational programming specifically to North Texas. Together, the two companies will continue to host the event to develop long-term sustainability of biotech business growth in DFW.
