Invest in Health speaker sets sights on international growth

The director of Pellitec, the North West-based medical device business, is to speak at Insider’s upcoming Invest in Health event. The free-to-attend breakfast takes place on 18 January at the Health Innovation Campus, Lancaster University

Pellitec produces an innovative blister prevention pad and was a recent winner at Insider’s International Trade Awards.

“This year has been all about growing our international reach. We have established a distributor in Australia and PelliTec is now available on Amazon’s European market,” said director Peter Broxton.

In the year ahead, Broxton is eyeing up more international growth, adding: “2023 is a big year for women’s sport with World Cups in football, cricket and netball. We have a lot of women users of our PelliTec blister prevention pad and will have a presence at each event either through our distributors or players.”

The business is currently on an equity funding round to help its grow its patented technology into sectors other than foot care. He joins the panel alongside Sarah Kemp, pro vice-chancellor for Engagement at Lancaster University. Prior to joining Lancaster University, Kemp was chief executive of Lancashire Local Enterprise Partnership.
