Simulation facilitators, educators, technologists, clinicians, and academics will be joining forces to debate the latest trends in simulation and immersive technologies in health and social care.

Staffordshire University’s inaugural Simulation conference ‘Linking Safety, Education and Practice’’ takes place on Wednesday 8 June 2022. Pre-conference activities and practical workshops including a session on ‘The art of moulage’ will take place on Tuesday 7 June 2022.

The event is set to explore current and new trends in simulation and immersive technologies for teaching, learning, assessment, research and patient safety for health and social care. Keynote speakers at the conference include Dr Stefan Monk, Chief Medical Officer at CAE Healthcare, Professor Keith Weeks, Professor Emeritus of the University of South Wales, Founder and President of Transatlantic Research and CRDO: Safe Meditate and Mr Norman Woolley, CEO of Authentic World.

Emily Browne, Associate Dean for Innovation and Enterprise said: “We are absolutely delighted to be hosting our inaugural simulation conference at our brand-new Centre for Health Innovation.

“We are striving to create a great community of practice in simulation and patient safety. The conference will bring together like-minded people to create opportunities to discuss, develop, collaborate, and innovate together. Alongside our keynote speakers, we will also have a number of special guests presenting throughout the event on simulation related topics. Delegates will also have opportunities to meet exhibitors as well as the University’s Patient Safety and Simulation Team.”

The Linking Safety, Education and Practice conference will take place at the Centre for Health Innovation, Staffordshire University’s Stafford campus starting at 9am on Wednesday 8 June 2022. Pre-conference activities and practical workshops take place on Tuesday 7 June 2022.
